IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver




The IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver program qualifies divers to dive to 42meters and to perform required decompression stops for up to 15 minutes using nitrox mixtures up to and including 100% oxygen as a decompression gas, subject to a PO2 limit of 1.5ata.



The IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver program qualifies divers to dive to 42meters and to perform required decompression stops for up to 15 minutes using nitrox mixtures up to and including 100% oxygen as a decompression gas, subject to a PO2 limit of 1.5ata.

You will complete the IANTD Tek Lite theory with your instructor, including content on oxygen exposure tracking for technical & gas switch dives, equipment set up & configuration, physiology & decompression as well as a gas switch decompression dive planning workshop.

During this course you will demonstrate your ability to safely conduct at least two decompression dives to a maximum depth of 42 meters, including a switch to a rich nitrox mix to accelerate your required decompression. On each dive you will carry out the drills which technical diving makes possible, including shut downs which enable you to deal with catastrophic gas loss in a safe manner and end your dive in a controlled manner. In doing so you will be becoming a self sufficient diver able to deal with buddy separation and/or equipment malfunctions. Completion of the course requires passing the IANTD Advanced Nitrox diver exam.

For divers wishing to complete the course on a rebreather (semi-closed or closed-circuit) additional skill requirements may apply, depending on the type of rebreather. Please contact us for details.

What  do I need to start?

  • Obtain a valid diving medical statement signed by a physician. (If you do not have one you can easily get one done at our dive centre)

Note that all costs related to this activity are mentioned in the above table – there are no hidden charges.


In the case of boat dives a supplement charge will be added to cover for the cost of the boat. This charge varies between 15 and 25euros p/dive according to the location however you can confirm the price of the boat a few days before the trip as to have a more accurate quote.

Your next adventure:

For those wanting to dive with less narcosis, the IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver course offers diving to 48meters but with a substantial narcosis reduction to the equivalent of a 24meters dive. If you’d like to dive deeper, you can continue on to IANTD Technical Diver (a 55m/180ft air and nitrox certification, and the end of the "air" certification ladder) or IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver (a trimix qualification offering diving to 60m/200ft with Trimix’s narcosis reduction).
