A Sidemount configuration (scuba tanks alongside of the diver) offers more flexibility and better streamlining options. Learn about the many benefits of diving with a Sidemount configuration.

Having scuba tanks on your back isn’t a requirement for exploring the underwater world. Many scuba divers have discovered the joy of mounting cylinders on their sides. Sidemount diving gives you flexibility and streamlining options. Plus, you don’t have to walk with heavy cylinders on your back – just enter the water, clip them on and go. Sound interesting? Sign up for the PADI Sidemount Diver Specialty course.

Along with learning about the many benefits of diving with a sidemount configuration, during one confined water and three open water scuba dives you’ll learn how to:

Properly assemble and configure sidemount scuba diving equipment.
Trim your weight system and sidemount gear so you’re perfectly balanced in the water.
Manage gas by switching second stages as planned, if wearing two cylinders.
Respond correctly to potential problems when sidemount diving.
Equipment
We will provide the Sidemount equipment you’ll need, such as a BCD and harness configured for Sidemount diving along with cylinders, each with a regulator and SPG.

What is neutral buoyancy?
Scuba divers like to be neutrally buoyant so they neither sink nor float. It can be a tricky thing. Divers who’ve mastered the highest performance levels in buoyancy stand apart. You’ve seen them underwater.

They glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover, almost as if by thought. They interact gently with aquatic life and affect their surroundings minimally. The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course refines the basic skills you learned as a PADI Open Water Diver and elevates them to the next level.

The fun part of this course is giving your dive skills a polish you may not have thought possible.

During this course you’ll learn about:
How to trim your scuba gear so you’re perfectly balanced in the water
Nuances in determining weight so you’re not too light nor too heavy by even a slight degree
How to streamline to save air and move smoothly through the water
How to hover effortlessly in both a vertical position and a horizontal position

Your Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver /Adventure Diver course credits (at your instructor’s discretion) as the first dive in the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course

The learning materials you need:
PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy e-Learning includes a buoyancy assessment questionnaire and basic weighting guidelines – useful whenever you purchase new gear or dive in a new environment. It also provides an overview of the skills you’ll practice with your PADI Instructor.

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course
Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur.

The fun part about this course is rising to challenges and mastering them. Most divers find this course both demanding and rewarding, and at the end, say it’s the best course they’ve ever taken.

Rescue divers learn to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well-being of other divers. This is why the PADI Rescue Diver rating is a prerequisite for all PADI leadership training (Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Scuba Instructor).

Before you can get certified as a Rescue Diver you need to have completed an EFR course within the past 2 years. If not you can attend an EFR course within the same PADI Rescue Course.
