The SSI Open Water Instructor rating marks your transition into a fully qualified dive professional. At Aquatica Diving Centre, this is a more complete and immersive program than standard instructor courses, delivered over two intensive weeks of focused training. Candidates develop the skills to independently conduct academic sessions, confined water sessions, and open water courses while managing certified divers in real operational conditions. With structured mentorship, continuous in-water practice, and high teaching standards, graduates leave confident, prepared, and ready to operate safely and professionally within the global dive industry.

What does ‘Fit to Swim’ mean? 
  • Swim 375 Meters in the surface (20 min max time) Without the Use of Mask, Fins and Snorkel (swim goggles are permitted).
  • Swim 25 Meters Using a Mask, Fins and Snorkel
  • Tread Water for 15 Minutes
  • Full Unconscious Diver on the Surface Rescue Tow of a distance of 100m (8 min max time).
What does ‘Medical Fit’ mean?

If you answered YES* to questions 3, 5 or 10 above OR to any of the questions on page 2 you need written medical approval from your doctor to be able to join the activity. Take all three pages of the medical form (Participant Questionnaire and the Physician’s Evaluation Form) to your physician for a medical evaluation.
