Facts and Training Standards

  • Amount of Academic Sessions: 6
  • Amount of Pool/Confined Water Sessions: 3
  • Amount of Open Water Sessions: 3
  • Maximum Training Depth: 18m / 60ft
  • A 24-hour waiting period is required after scuba diving before flying

Certification Prerequisites

  • Minimum Age: 12
  • Fit to swim
  • Open Water Diver Certification
  • Valid First Aid Certification (not older than 2 years)

What does ‘Fit to Swim’ mean? 

I do not struggle to swim 200 meters without resting.

What does ‘Medical Fit’ mean?

If you answered YES* to questions 3, 5 or 10 above OR to any of the questions on page 2 you need written medical approval from your doctor to be able to join the activity. Take all three pages of the medical form (Participant Questionnaire and the Physician’s Evaluation Form) to your physician for a medical evaluation.
